Description
There are Four Mini Lessons Structured in the Following Way:
Standard-common core standards are listed
Objective-the goal of the lesson is provided and can be shared with students
Materials- links to charts, videos, and writing samples
Hook- a fun way to start the mini lesson
Teaching Point- a straightforward statement about what students will learn
Modeling- a way for you to show students the skill you are teaching
Work Time-an opportunity for students to practice the skill with partners and independently
Conferring-tips for how to organize and run conferences based on mini lessons taught and assessment tools provided
Share-an opportunity for students to share with the whole class what they learned through the mini-lesson (done after independent writing time)
